Narration Voiceover
Narrative-y Narration Voiceover. This is a bit of a catch-all page for anything long that isn’t either E-learning or an Audiobook.
Documentaries, YouTube videos, that sort of thing. Poetry too!
There’s much more of one’s own personality that can shine through in these, just by virtue of them being so long that you can’t help but end up leave your mark.
Also, it’s interesting to be interested, and that will always come across. There’s nothing worse than knowing the narrator was phoning it in when you’re watching a documentary about something fascinating.
Like what you hear?
You’re welcome to ask for a quote, or pick my brains about the industry. I know some things.
Long Form Spoken Word. LFSW. Catchy.
Anything longer than probably.. 10 minutes? But also including some things that are only 2 minutes. The catchiness continues.
Documentaries and TV Narration are the big ones here, with Poetry making an appearance in amongst the informative and/or entertaining YouTube videos. It’s a shame I felt like Audiobooks needed their own section, as they would’ve fit nicely in here.
I alluded to this in the introduction above, but I do think it’s worth repeating.. I am an interested person, generally. I’m interested in things and stuff, and if you’re putting forward a script on some cool things or cool stuff, we are a match made in heaven.
This interestedness means the final voiceover matches the listener’s energy and mood at that moment in time. They are interested. I am interested. We are all interested together.
That’s all besides the voice-point though. I speak more naturally when I’m narrating, and that ends up often being a little rough or gruff, smooth, and with a “knowing” quality. It’s trustworthy, intelligent, and assured.
